CHAPEL HILL sunset and monuments to Columbine

TUNAGE: Dream Theatre

Turning points are approaching along with a change in weather. Tonight’s ride approached Chapel Hill directly to photograph the sunset. The ride home went north to connect with Highline Canal and back to DeKoevend and Big Dry Creek.

The view at Chapel Hill is a tremendous panorama. It’s a great location to observe meteor showers. It is open and mostly flat. It is home to the 13 crosses from Columbine back in 99′.

Twilight to darkness is a great time to be outside. The setting of the sun and the long process to total darkness is an experience. A healing experience that more people need participate in, and more often.

The tree shot attempts to capture that point in twilight, where colors begin to wash away to grey’s and blacks. Trees become black against a graying background. At this point in twilight there is a scary chill and a shudder. Soon we resolve to accept that it’s dark and the sunset is just a memory, and hopefully some pictures that come out OK.

The ball of fire in the sky is racing away to hide for the night.
Seems there are height restrictions..
Tree turns black and sky moves to gray.
