Spring Busting out Big today – even for the coyote

TUNAGE: ELO, Supertramp, Jefferson Starship. Now rocking all Spotify, goodbye to Napster.

Every tree, plant and animal was out today stirring fully into Spring mode. Exceptional weather for today’s pure Colorado sunshine ride. With an early start, the 30 mile ride brought me home by 3pm. Several firsts on the photography front today and the photos include some work on video taken from the helmet cam. I will post the photos first then work the video in next couple of days.

Saw the first Coyote around here in a couple of years. It was heading out to an open field looking rather hungry.  I’ve seen today additional signs indicating their activity is high.

Fat bike riding on the summer wheels and yesterday pulled off the studded Terrene wheels until next winter. Bummer of a winter season with not enough snow.

Ride Summary: from home near Arapahoe High, rode along highline to Marjorie Perry Nature Preserve(MPNP). The return through Shangri-La to the hidden mini-gem at Holly Resevoir (no water here). Then across Arapahoe Rd down to the Englewood Resevoir(No water here either) open space for some BMX fun at an unlabelled BMX trail. The along the path down into Highlands and underneath C470 to Sweetwater Park. Rode up a Willow Creek Trail (a dirt road) to a high point on the trail and video taped the near all downhill from this location back to Englewood Resevoir and open space. Then rode home along E Easter Rd. to home.

The plan surrounded getting video shots at an unmarked BMX mini system at Englewood Resevoir. This is Holly and Dry Creek in Centennial. Pics towards the bottom but I hope to have some video of these fun terrain park trails.

These trails I have taken before, just combined 3 separate rides into one long day in the saddle.

I pass this view on most of my local rides.
Best view from Highline just north of deKoevend Park and Rec Center. Plus points for the horse.
Marjorie Perry Nature Preserve

The Englewood Reservoir is really a flood control berm along Willow Creek. This is the dam road.
The grass was greener on the way home. Buds in trees readying for full on growth.
Welcome restoration trail side has been progressing.
Big Dip w Kicker on other side.
I’ve ridden this mini-system frequently. Measured risks always.
