Today revolved around Redstone Park in Highlands Ranch for launch. The East-West Trail is great terrain with measured challenges and few rocks. But when I saw this Foothills Trail, I rode this as this is first view for me on this trail. It follows what must have been water, power, or gas lines. It runs straight and diagonally through most of west Highlands Ranch. There are no trees and the view is bleak. I’m not feeling now that I will ride this trail again. I did see that if you park at Sand Creek Elementary School, there is a huge open space with lots of visible single track to explore. There is a surprising amount of open terrain here. I never knew about this here in the middle of Highlands Ranch.
The trail is up and down but mostly up to the Northeast corner. Then mostly downhill riding southwest in a somewhat straight line.
At the top of the trail, I rode through some rough and picked up a couple of goathead punctures. The handy air pump resulted in short delay. I had to stop and re-inflate twice more before it stopped leaking. A must have in Colorado trails, are these tubeless tires.
The leading picture collage is another quick attempt at sewing together the key images from the pictures taken. Each picture chosen and framed to showcase the things I want to remember from ride experience.
