Steamboat Bike Park – Day 6 All Downhill

The Bike Park is on the ski slopes. You take the Gandola to the top and ride down. 35 minute gondola ride to the mid-mountain Thunderhead lodge. The nearly an hour ride all downhill.  After 5 gondola rides we are a bit sore but happy for the great weather and only minor scrapes. Today I was joined by fellow rider Kelly.

View south from Thunderhead lodge at the top of the Gondola ride.
Kelly on one of the many wooden walkways usually going over small streams or drainage paths.
The ski area signage was different than the bike park signage. The ski runs easily visible at steamboat, but no snow yet.
Plenty of opportunity to soak in the views on the way down.

Skiers may recognize this area when you get off the Gondola. Trails split off from here in all directions.
