Bluffs Regional Park – Highlands

It a surprisingly great overlook area.  About 5 miles square; a mesa with sloping sides but a climb to the top. Great views of downtown and west to the mountains. Not much of the promised sunshine but not very cold and still plenty of hikers. Mostly hard pack snow and plenty of mud but no obstacles. This is a very short ride from the house and just south of Highlands Ranch.

This is actually the East-West Trail that picks up south of the Bluffs Regional Park.
Despite high clouds, this is Pike Peak looking southeast.
One of finger trails, each with an overlook at the end.
I think that is Mt. Evans and the atmospheric magnification make the distant mountains look real close. Using zoom on this shot also.
The horse riders enjoying a ride without many hikers on the trail. I always keep my distance on the bike.
If your doing it right, you got a lot of mud to rinse off after the ride.
