Fat bikes best for off-the path rides

April 2, 2020 – It’s started snowing and the trails are nearly empty. Great time to ride! Yesterday it was about 60 degrees so a blend of 2 days of trail photos. The day before I decided for a nighttime tide starting just at sunset. I had a great ride with only a handful of trail traffic. It has gotten so busy with people at 5-6pm, I’m going to avoid that time going forward.

I’ve also crafted the best local trail ride to avoid all trail traffic. I’ll call it my Covid route for now. I’m able to find routes to avoid underpasses and bridges where folks get a bit too crammed together for the prescribed distancing rules.

By tomorrow they predict a couple of wet snow inches. Maybe I’ll ride midday as they expect sunshine by noon.
Properly geared makes this weather easy for the ride. No kids at the playgrounds today though.
This is the trio or horses at Sumac Hills Farm. The closest to the left is Dream, who I had been learning to ride.
The local golf course has a well hidden trail that I’ve found not many know about. Only a few around here.
