Mid-August – Orange Red Sunsets

Smoke from different forest fires in the state create the colors at sunrise and sunset. Rode to the familiar Marjorie Perry Nature Preserve. Photos taken from a new camera, that I’m just now exploring capabilities. Hoping for a wide angle and low light lens to arrive one day in the mail.

Late summer brings loud crickets, huge dragonflies, and rapidly shortening days. It’s been unusually hot lately and I predict when it does rain, look out!

Here are images taken today, to put a feel on the 6 rides a week I have been maintaining.

Cat-O-9-Tails aplenty.
The special spot, a special log.
Parking the ride rigged for photog summer style.
A hidden trail segment.
This guy is along the way and willing to watch and listen to me speak directly to him.
The standard lens is doing a fine job of capture the setting sun.
The horizon appears as though a fire. Not far from the truth with 4 big ones in the state.
Did you know a muskrat is not a rat!
