July 1, 2021 – The ride was a segment along Rio Grande Trail up to Aspen. It is very green near Aspen and not nearly as dry as the beginning of the route. While in Aspen I did not recognize much of the town much as so much has changed. Storm clouds made the visit in town brief. It rained lightly on the way back but was mostly downhill. Mapping information was very poor about details of the trail. Trail side reports from a rider said it was mostly downhill to Glenwood Springs but most of the trail length cannot be seen or evaluated from the neighboring route 82. For today we ride the segment closest to Aspen.
