CC&V Newmont Gold Mine

I took a tour of Newmont’s mine near Cripple Creek and Victor (CC&V). Great weather contributed to these great shots of a large modern mining operation.

South side leaching operations and fields.
Giant leaching field being treated for gold recovery.
Giant griding mill turn boulders into manageable sized gravel. All operations run 24×7 all year.
Half a dozen of these haul trucks always on the move. Just not very fast.
The wheel axle is 4 feet tall.
Wheel is much taller than myself.
The red numbers on the side display show tonnage inside the truck.
Travel is left lane for safety reasons.
